In our latest 10 facts series mailer, we decided to dive into our world and share some facts about our business and people you may not already know…

#1 28 years and counting

Nick Stamatiadis started the company back in September 1992.  He officially retired in 2015 with his two sons, Alex and Mike, having learnt the business and now running the company.

They are now the third generation to be involved in the South African bearing industry. Here’s a video below of Nick sharing his reflections on Bearings 2000 over the years.

#2 We are an Authorised Distributor of SKF

SKF is the world-leading bearing manufacturer offering integrated bearing solutions to improve asset reliability.

This is achieved through bearing technologies supported by a wide range of mechanical engineering and asset management services.

#3 We don’t have any sales reps

Instead, we have key account managers who manage relationships and service our customers with a holistic approach. Their goal is focusing on relationships and ensuring value is constantly delivered to customers.

#4 Customers enjoy 135% procurement recognition
when buying from us

In 2019, we were delighted and proud to achieve a Level 1
B-BBEE status
assisting our customers to improve their own BBBEE levels.

#5 ‘Industrial supplies, simplified

It’s our mission to deliver the right parts at the right time and ensure that nothing gets in the way of our customers getting their jobs done. It’s that simple!

#6 Three hub branches located in Joburg, Durban & Cape Town

We don’t believe in having a branch in every industrial area we service, in fact, we can provide an even better service without a branch. How’s this possible? Through our dynamic peopleinnovative technologies and trustworthy service providers we’re able to supply most of South Africa’s industrial areas with a same-day or next-day delivery.

We also have Key Account Managers strategically positioned in Nelspruit, Bethal/Witbank and Rustenburg maintaining relationships and servicing customers in and around those areas.

In 2019, we estimate that we completed over 1 million kilometres to service our customers on time.

#7 Our values are built on L.O.G.I.C

What does this mean? Long term thinking, Organisation, Getting things done, Improving constantly and putting emphasis on Communication that matters.

These values guide every decision made, instilled and applied throughout our business and people.

#8 A privately owned company with a flat management structure

We have six senior managers working with Mike and Alex, who look after their respective departments and branches.

This ensures quick and flexible decision making and clear communication with our customers, key to reinforcing our ‘industrial supplies, simplified’ approach.

#9 Making a difference to our people and local communities

We’re also passionate about developing the skills and future of our people. This inspired us to build a state-of-the-art training facility for weekly staff training sessions.

Here’s a recap of our internship program, which we are immensely proud of.

#10 Communication is key

Through our monthly electronic mailers and the blog on our website, it’s our goal to keep our people, customers, stakeholders and friends informed on industry and broader matters.

Since June 2018, we’ve shared over 30 blog posts which our customers find really helpful and informative.  You can view them all here.
