For years, SKF has gone to great lengths to address climate change and the global bearing manufacturer is confident that they will accomplish what they’ve set out to achieve:

  • By 2030, their worldwide production facilities will have net zero greenhouse gas emissions.
  • By 2050 – or even earlier, their full supply chain, from materials to the delivery of products and solutions, will also be net zero.

Attaining such ambitious goals requires a combined effort and commitment from those not only within their own organisation but throughout the entire value chain.

The goal of achieving a net zero supply chain covers both indirect and direct emissions.

This entails

  • Purchased direct material.
  • Purchased indirect materials and services
  • Transportation & Distribution (all upstream transportation and downstream transportation managed by SKF)
  • Fuel and energy-related activities
  • Waste generated in operations
  • Employee commuting
  • Business travel
  • Capital goods
